Robert S. Lavey, MD
Robert S. Lavey, MD, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and earned his medical degree at Stanford University. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, where he was appointed Chief Resident. He is board certified in radiation oncology. Dr. Lavey received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a National Institutes of Health Fellow in the Department of Epidemiology and also in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University.

Dr. Lavey is a national leader in the field of radiation oncology, specializing in the treatment of pediatric, head and neck, brain, hematologic, and gynecologic malignancies. He has written numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and review articles reporting his clinical and laboratory research. He has also been the principal investigator or radiation oncology coordinator of several clinical trials for the treatment of cervical and central nervous system malignancies, retinoblastoma, neuroblastoma and leukemia.

Dr. Lavey’s professional memberships include the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the Los Angeles Radiological Society, where he served as President and was a Distinguished Scientific Advisor to the Radiological Society of North America. He has also served as an officer with the National Cancer Institute sponsored national clinical trials as well as on the Executive Committee of the Southern California Radiation Oncology Society and as an active member.

Dr. Lavey is dedicated to community organizations whose mission is to assist families coping with cancer.
